The Napoleon Luminex 65 LCD NEFL65LCD-3SV is a built-in indoor electric fireplace for a planned feature wall. Its defining features are LCD flame imagery, integrated crackling audio and a choice of one-, two- or three-sided viewing. Choose it when the experience of watching the fireplace—and seeing it from different parts of the room—is a central part of your renovation.

Performance Highlights

Design around the view from your favorite seat
Imagine the fireplace as part of your daily room layout: visible from the sofa, the nearby reading chair and the route into the space. A corner configuration can make the display part of more than one sightline. A front-facing installation can anchor a symmetrical wall. Choose those sightlines before selecting the surround, and have your installer translate the concept into the appropriate framing plan.

What does LCD add to an electric fireplace?
The Luminex uses LCD imagery for three flame patterns, with six flame colors. Its built-in speakers provide crackling audio associated with the flame presentation. That makes sound part of the room experience as well as the moving image. You can adjust the audio when you want a quieter setting. This is an electric visual effect: the apparent wood or gas fire is not burning fuel in your home.

Choose one, two or three sides before construction
The Luminex is designed for recessed or built-in installation, not simple surface wall hanging. Use one-sided viewing for a traditional feature-wall arrangement, two sides for a corner, or three sides where both glass ends are meant to remain visible. The choice changes how the enclosure meets the fireplace. This is why a product's nominal 65-inch size alone is not enough to order framing or stone.

The included media is part of the value
Beach Fire logs and the Woodland media kit give you a layered starting point. The supplied media includes mineral rocks, charcoal, rusty iron glass and smoky gem glass. Thirteen ember-bed and top-light colors, with three brightness levels, let you change that presentation. Compare the included arrangement with optional-media photographs before buying extras; the room scene you like may show a separately purchased log or crystal set.

Use the controls that suit the moment
The premium remote is included. Napoleon Home app operation and compatible Google/Alexa voice control provide additional ways to adjust the fireplace. An optional wall controller is a separate purchase. The manual also describes thermostat control and weekly scheduling. In the app, ECO operates the heater at half power; BOOST increases blower speed for 30 minutes while the heater runs at full power. A fan-only setting circulates air without heat. During setup, learn the display, sound and heat controls separately so an evening lighting change does not require changing your preferred heating setup.
Fuel Details: Electric Power & Installation
The manual specifies 120/240V AC and maximum ratings of 1,500W/3,000W on a dedicated grounded 15A circuit. The 3,000W rating requires the 240V configuration; it is not the output of a standard 120V connection. Plan hardwiring with a qualified professional. This is an indoor built-in appliance, and the manual prohibits bathroom and outdoor installation. Operate the display without heat when supplemental warmth is not needed.
Treat this as supplemental room heat. The warmth you feel depends on room size, insulation, ceiling height and the surrounding temperature. For a simple running-cost estimate, multiply the operating power in kilowatts by hours used and your electricity rate. Thermostat cycling and display-only operation change actual consumption.

Before You Order: Four Project Decisions
- Choose the location. Measure the usable wall, nearby furniture and the sightline from your usual seat.
- Choose the installation. Give your installer the exact model number and selected viewing or mounting arrangement.
- Confirm the electrical plan. Check the supply, circuit and connection before closing the wall.
- Choose the finish. Account for any optional media, framing, finishing materials and labor in the project budget.
If a television is part of the wall, review both manufacturers' clearance and temperature requirements with your installer. A photograph is not approval for a particular TV height.
Why Choose the Napoleon Luminex 65 LCD?
The Luminex makes the most sense when you value the LCD presentation, sound and architectural viewing choices enough to plan a built-in project around them. Its deeper body and enclosure requirements deserve attention before you buy. If you want to hang a shallower fireplace on an existing wall, compare the Entice 60. If you want connected controls with a broader mix of mounting approaches, compare the Astound 62 FlexMount.

No. NEFL65LCD-3SV is designed for recessed or built-in installation. Its one-, two- and three-sided options describe viewing configurations within an enclosure.
Does the Luminex have real flames?
No. It uses LCD flame imagery with decorative logs and media. Built-in speakers add crackling audio; no wood or gas is burned.
Are the Luminex logs included?
Beach Fire logs and the Woodland media kit are included. Optional birch logs, black crystals and other decorative alternatives shown in some images may be sold separately.
What dimensions should my installer use?
The main body is 65 1/16 inches wide, 25 3/8 inches high and 12 1/16 inches deep. Width including the outer brackets is 66 1/4 inches. Use the manual's configuration-specific drawings for framing, glass projections and clearances.
Can the Luminex 65 run without heat?
Yes. Its heater-off setting lets you enjoy the display without supplemental heat. The display and electronics still consume electricity.
What warranty applies to the Luminex 65 LCD?
Napoleon lists a five-year limited warranty. Review the manual for covered components, exclusions and labor terms; the warranty does not mean all service costs are covered for five years.
