Howl Campfires makes portable propane fire pits in Colorado from 304 stainless steel, aircraft aluminum and brass. The R1 (about 10 lb, folds to shoebox size) is all flame and light. The R3 (about 20 lb) adds a glowing BarCoal radiant tube for three-season warmth, on one simple knob. The R4 MKII (27 lb) has twin radiant tubes and separate heat and flame controls for four-season trips.

Which Howl fire pit should I buy?
Choose the R1 for the smallest, lightest pack and atmosphere. Choose the R3 for radiant warmth on three-season trips with one simple control. Choose the R4 MKII for cold-weather use and separate control of radiant heat and visible flame.
Is a propane tank included with Howl fire pits?
No. Each fire pit includes an 8-foot regulator hose (R3 and R4 MKII); the propane cylinder and carry strap are sold separately.
Can you cook on a Howl fire pit?
No. Howl's owner's manuals say the units aren't designed for cooking or for heating cookware, food or liquids.
Can I use a Howl fire pit during a burn ban?
Only where the rules for your location allow this type of propane appliance. Howl fire pits are UL certified, but certification isn't blanket permission, so check with the local fire authority or land manager first.
What warranty do Howl fire pits have?
