Kamado Joe describes Big Block XL as a 100% natural hardwood blend made from guayacan, guayaibi, mistol and white quebracho. The lump format is designed to light quickly and respond to airflow adjustments in kamado grills and other charcoal cookers.
Kamado Joe recommends lighting with a natural fire starter and advises against lighter fluid. After cooking, follow your grill manufacturer’s shutdown procedure and allow the charcoal to cool completely before handling. Unburned lump can be reused for a future cook.
