Tagwood BBQ · BBQ23SS
The original layout, built deeper
The BBQ23SS is the XL version of Tagwood's BBQ03SS: the same layout from left to right, with a much deeper grill. The 33.75" x 26.75" main grate gives you 1,117 sq. in. in total, enough to cook for a big table without crowding.
01 · XL main grate and elevation
Twice the depth, same control
The deep main grate holds whole racks of ribs and a full spread of steaks at once, and stainless S-hooks above it hang more cuts in the warm air. Turn the elevation wheel and the grate travels from 2.5" to 20" above the coals, low to sear and high to cook slowly.
Elevation system: Right side vs Frontal
Both layouts raise and lower the same grate through the same range. Tagwood does not publish a separate clearance figure for the wheel, so leave open working space on the side where it sits and follow the installation clearances in the BBQ23SS manual.
02 · Brasero and secondary grate
Live flame on one side
Wood and charcoal light quickly in the brasero, away from the main cooking area. The 9" x 23.75" height-adjustable secondary grate sits right over it for searing above live flame, and an interchangeable griddle covers vegetables and sides. Firebricks spread the heat evenly and protect the body, and a front access door makes the fire easy to tend.
03 · Cart, side table and wheels
Ready to roll out for the crowd
The stainless side table gives you room to prep and plate, and a bottle opener is built in. Swivel casters, two with brakes, move the 485 lb grill into position and hold it there.
