The Bastille Fire Tower by The Outdoor Plus is a 7-foot-tall freestanding outdoor fire tower built from Corten weathering steel, delivering 40,000 BTU of gas flame for patios, gardens, courtyards, and resort-style landscape installations. The tower features integrated propane tank storage inside the base, eliminating the visible LP tank that typically sits next to gas fire features. Configurable for either liquid propane or natural gas, and available with either match-lit or electronic ignition. Made in the USA.
The Bastille Fire Tower is built to order with two configurable options. Fuel type — choose Liquid Propane or Natural Gas based on your existing outdoor gas supply. If you select Liquid Propane, the integrated tank storage compartment inside the tower base houses your LP tank. Ignition method — choose Match Lit for the simplest installation and operation, or Electronic Ignition for push-button or remote-style operation that requires a low-voltage electrical connection. Confirm both selections match your site requirements before ordering, as configurations are not interchangeable after manufacture.
The Bastille Fire Tower is built from Corten weathering steel, a material that changes in appearance as it's exposed to the outdoors. The surface develops a natural patina over time — this is a designed-in feature of the material, not a defect or finish flaw. Color, tone, and surface character will continue to evolve the longer the tower lives outdoors, and the rate and pattern of weathering depends on local climate, humidity, and exposure. Each tower is individually handcrafted, and slight variations in color and surface texture may occur as part of the handmade manufacturing process. The color displayed in product photography may not always accurately represent the finish of the unit you receive — computer monitors render colors differently, and Corten in particular varies as it weathers.
The Bastille Fire Tower is a complete fire tower unit, but installation requires site-side connections that are not provided. For Liquid Propane configurations, you will need a properly sized LP tank to fit within the integrated tank storage compartment. For Natural Gas configurations, you will need a properly regulated outdoor natural gas line connection. If you select the Electronic Ignition configuration, a low-voltage electrical connection is also required at the installation site. Installation must comply with all applicable local building codes, gas codes, electrical codes, and fuel-supply regulations.
The Bastille Fire Tower is designed for outdoor, open-air use only. It is not intended for indoor installation, enclosed patios, covered structures without adequate ventilation, or any environment where combustion gases cannot fully dissipate. Installation of gas-fed outdoor fire features involves working with regulated fuel supply systems and should be performed by a qualified, licensed gas installation professional in accordance with local codes and manufacturer instructions. Always follow local building codes, gas codes, fire regulations, and any applicable HOA or municipal restrictions when installing and operating a gas fire tower.
