01 · Corten steel

Weathered steel, cut like a sculpture

TOP builds the Galaxy in Corten steel, a weathering steel that develops a natural rust patina and is made to last outdoors. The open, ribbed form lets the firelight spill through the steel.

TOP’s spec sheet rates the 24 and 30-inch Galaxy at 65,000 BTU and the 36-inch at 160,000 BTU, each with a 1/2-inch NPT female gas inlet and a 2-inch-deep pan.

Gas & Ignition Options

Two choices shape how this feature is installed and how you use it every night: the fuel it burns and the way it lights. Here is what each option on this page means.

Fuel: Propane (LP) or Natural Gas (NG)

Liquid Propane (LP)Tank-fed · no gas lineRuns from a propane tank, which is not included. Plan where the tank will sit before the feature arrives: in a ventilated enclosure or a tank cover close by, and on units without an access door, outside the feature itself.Choose propane when there is no gas line where the fire will go, or running one is not practical. The trade-off is refilling or swapping tanks.
Natural Gas (NG)Fixed gas lineConnects to a permanent line from your home’s gas supply. TOP recommends a licensed gas installer for the piping, with an accessible shutoff valve outside the fire feature.Choose natural gas for a permanent installation where a line is nearby or can be run. Once it is in, there is no tank to refill or hide.

Supply pressure: TOP’s manuals list 6–7 in. W.C. for natural gas and 8–11 in. W.C. for propane, so have your installer confirm the supply before the feature goes in.

Ignition

Match Lit IgnitionNo power · lit by handThe simplest setup: open the gas at the key valve and light the burner with a long-stem match or a butane fireplace lighter. Nothing to wire and no battery to replace.There is no flame sensor, so the gas is turned off by hand at the key valve. TOP rates Match Lit for residential use. Choose it for a home patio where simplicity matters most.
Fire GlowAAA battery · push-button sparkA push-button spark igniter, powered by a AAA battery, lights the burner, so there is no match and no wiring. The built-in gas valve adjusts flame height, and a flame-sense thermocouple shuts off the gas if the flame goes out.LC certified for residential and commercial use; TOP marks it poolside-ready. Choose it for push-button convenience without running power to the feature.
Spark GlowAAA battery · push-button sparkPush-button spark lighting powered by a AAA battery, with the flame set and turned off at a manual key valve. Plug and Play (CSA Certified)110V · electronicPlugs into a standard 110V outlet (GFCI, or a smart outlet hub) with a three-prong cord. A hot-surface igniter lights the burner and a thermocouple confirms the flame, with automatic shut-off if it is lost; it can be wired to a light switch, pool controller, smart-home hub or wireless remote.CSA certified. TOP’s manual calls for 110V installations to sit farther than 5 feet from water. Choose it for switch-on convenience where an outlet is close by. Fuel: natural gas or liquid propane. Gas inlet: 1/2-inch NPT female.

Important for the 36-inch model: its published 160,000-BTU rating is substantially higher than the 24- and 30-inch versions. Have the gas supply sized for the exact model selected rather than treating all Galaxy sizes as interchangeable.

Corten steel

Expect the patina to change outdoors

Corten is a weathering steel. Its surface tone develops as it is exposed to outdoor conditions, so variation is part of the material rather than a painted-color defect. The Outdoor Plus excludes natural weathering of Corten steel from warranty coverage.

The Outdoor Plus currently lists 1-year coverage for fire pits, bowls and covered stainless-steel fire-feature components, with 1-year residential coverage for qualifying electronics, gas valves and pilot assemblies. Burner rings and burner bars carry lifetime coverage. Current written terms and exclusions apply.
