The Traditional E2197 combines a 520 sq. in. primary grate, warming rack, adjustable charcoal tray, airflow controls and heavy-duty steel construction for direct grilling, indirect cooking and—when paired with a compatible Side Fire Box—offset smoking.
The E2197 gives you an adjustable charcoal tray plus damper control, letting you change the relationship between the fire and the cooking grate as the cook changes.
Char-Griller designed the E2197 with a Side Fire Box connection. Adding the compatible fire box moves the charcoal fire beside the main chamber for offset-style smoking.
The Side Fire Box is not included with the E2197, so it is shown below only as an optional compatible upgrade.
A front charcoal door gives you access to the fuel area, while the EasyDump ash pan helps with post-cook cleanup after the grill has completely cooled. Side shelves and a lower storage shelf add usable work and storage space.
Char-Griller publishes 5-year rust-through and burn-through coverage for the charcoal grill hood and bottom, excluding the removable ash pan. The ash pan and other defective parts are listed at 1 year, subject to registration, proof of purchase, exclusions and the manufacturer’s full warranty terms.
